7 Things to always respect

I heard this and thought this is a great piece of advice for young and old.

Being critical is a natural thing sometimes and we may not even realise we do it, however this breeds negative practices and being overly critical means we cannot harbour positive influences.

so never criticise

1 Your Fate. (It might be better to be thankful for the condition you are in)
2 Elders infront of children (Children learn from you and how you respect your elders sets their brain in the same mindset)
3 Condition of home that you own (This is similar to the analogy that those in glass houses should not throw stones)
4 Your mum and dad / elders (Your parents have raised you and sacrificed a lot to get you to where you are now)
5 Inlaws infront of your wife (Your wife’s parents have raised her and sacrificed a lot to get you to where you are now)
7 Friends to strangers (you should not speak badly about friends anyway, but to strangers is a no no)
8 Rukhsad / mehmano ki (assuming rukhsad means dinner/meal at a guests house. I take this one stage further and usually dont criticise food unless its really bad. But doing this at a guests home is bad mannered)

Thats all for now folks!

So this week has been very hectic, lots of troubleshooting bits, finding bits and fixing bits.

I watched 2 States, a fantastic film that does the book justice. Set in Ahmadabad, Gujarat and Chennai, Tamil Nadu. Both partner and I can relate to a lot of the events shown. A few friends are getting married/have been married recently and they should relate to these too. It explores the dynamics of in laws with attitude. A marriage is all about give and take and being flexible. Some of the characters stick and others are fluid in their attitude. All change with the ‘wave’ of the main two characters and have to eventually support rather than resist the fact that their son/daughter have chosen a partner.

“We have to save ourselves” – quote from another film I recently watched.

That’s all for now folks.

Audere est Facere

For those who follow the premiership there are only a few months to go before this season will draw to a close and Spurs again are looking like they will smell what its to be like in the top 4 then drop to 6th or lower. I watched the highlights and have to say it is pretty dismal being a Spurs supporter as Liverpool have shown class this weekend by taking Man U and putting them out of the running.

So lets see how it finishes …

Remove bad or broken web parts from a page

During the process of developing web parts, you might stumble on to situations where a web part that you’ve developed is causing errors on a page.

In a wide variety of scenarios, you might want to remove that web part from the specific page but you are unable to do this because the page cannot render.

To remedy this, you can use the Web Part Maintenance page for that specific page.

There is a long convoluted way of reaching this page but the straight-forward way of reaching it is:

> Add the following to the and of your URL: ?contents=1

Example: http://www.mysite.com/sitecol/default.aspx?contents=1
